cazillo.com Underexposure is THE ENEMY of digital photographs! In this video I show you how underexposure can ruin a photo, losing color & adding tons of noise to a photograph. When you underexpose you dramatically lower the dynamic range of the captured image. Your camera might have 10 or 12 stops of dynamic range (which you paid a lot of money for) but if you don’t expose properly you are wasting those capabilities. I’ve noticed over the years many people are afraid of high ISO. I show you how exposing properly with high ISO can produce better results, check out the video!

www.Berger-Bros.com What is Aperture? Yvonne Berger, head instructor at Berger Bros Cameras in Amityville and Syosset Long Island, discusses aperture. Aperture is one part of your exposure that allows the light to come into your camera lens. So, the aperture combined with your shutter speed are the things that give you your exposure. Adjusting the aperture value on your lens changes the opening for light to come into the camera. Aperture Settings As you change the aperture value from larger to smaller you get less depth of field and as you change the aperture from smaller to larger you get more depth of field. Best DSLR Video Settings For Canon Cameras

Guest post for Darren Rowse: www.digital-photography-school.com For more videos go to: www.learningDSLRVideo.com Transcription: ——————- I get this question about once a week, “What are the Best Video Setting For The Canon DSLR cameras”. So let me start off by eliminating two things you can take off the list. Those are aperture and ISO. Aperture, I really can’t tell you what to set it on because it depends on the type of look you are going after. With a shallow depth of field or not. And the other one is ISO. ISO is kind of there for exposure how how you are going to set the exposure. I will say you do not want go too far north of let’s say 1600 especially on like the Canon T2i then it gets really noisy. Obviously you are going to need to use aperture along with the ISO to get the right exposure but at least it gets you in the ball park. Those two ingredients are taken off the list. So the first I can tell you about what is on the list is shutter speed. Basically if you are going for a “filmic” look you are pretty much going to double your frame rate, so if you are shooting 24 frames per second you are going to want a 1/50th of a second shutter speed and if you are shooting at 60 frames per second you are going to go with 125th frames per second shutter speed. Now I will tell you it’s just kind of a guideline and a rule but I have shot at much higher shutter speeds and it has worked wonderful, especially if you are shooting something like myself which is just

There three things that affect the exposure of an image: The APERTURe, SHUTTER SPEED and ISO. You need to find the perfect balance between these three elements to get the right look that you want, as well as the right exposure. The aperture affects the amount of light that comes into the sensor and the depth of field. The depth of field will determine how much of the image is in focus. The shutter speed will determine the length of the exposure. The longer the shutter speed, the more light comes in, and the shorter the shutter speed, the less light comes into the image. It also determines the amount of blur that appears in the photo. A longer exposure is more susceptible to blur and camera shake. The ISO is the sensitivity of the sensor to light. Lower ISOs mean that the sensor is less sensitive and therefore going to need more light to expose an image. Higher ISO requires less light to expose and image, but adds noise the the image. Noise will saturate color, making them look unrealistic. Getting the right exposure is all about balancing these three elements. It will take time, but if you learn the basics, it gets easier! www.facebook.com www.PhotographersOnUTube.com Photography Tutorials & Tips A detailed tutorial of “ISO” with picture samples. Important Notes: * The higher the ISO the more sensitive the sensor is going to be to light. * The lower the ISO the less sensitive the sensor is going to be to light. You use low ISO when shooting in daylight or with studio light. You use high ISO when there is not a lot of light available. The drawback of high ISO is graininess/noise in picture.
